Here are the makeup products that I packed for my trip to Houston:
From top left to right:
No7 Blush Tint Stick in Rosebud. Easy to apply, no brush needed, perfect for traveling.
Rimmel Pencil eyebrow in Dark brown. You can read my review here. In my opinion a tamed eyebrow is essential for a minimal makeup look.
Garnier Caffeine Anti-dark Circles 2-in-1 Roll-on – Fair. My biggest make-up challenge is to cover my dark circles. I seriously must have tested over 50 concealer. I came to the conclusion that really thick and covering concealer always end up going into my fine lines after a couple of hours which in my opinion looks worse than having dark circles. I thus opt for lighter and less covering formulas. This concealer is a fairly good compromise. It brightens the under-eye area and does not migrate into my fine lines. However it is not covering enough to my liking but it is the best I have found so far. It is easy to apply and to blend. I do not think that the caffeine in the formula does anything to my under eye as I use this every morning and have not seen any improvement.
Labello Lip moisturiser “strawberry”. Definitely one of my favourite french product (you can read reviews on my other favourite french products here and here). I have a stash of about 5 lip balm at home. It gives a nice tinted, glossy finish while moisturising your lips. I barely wear lipstick and tend to wear this all the time instead.
No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara. I am not a big fan of this mascara. The formula is super dry and I have the feeling to put nothing on my eyelashes. Probably great if you are after a super natural look but I am after something a but more dramatic.
Natural collection white eyeliner. I always put white/beige eyeliner in my waterline to look more awake.
Benefit Boing concealer in n2. I cannot use this under my eyes as it is too drying on me but it is perfect to cover blemishes. Very long lasting, does not need powder, which is a must.
Carmex lip moisturiser. I was so excited when this product came to the UK as it is a must in the US but I really do not like the taste much (mint+cherry?). It does the job and I am trying to finish a few products so yeah, this was allowed to come on a trip to meet its ancestors.
This is my very minimal, everyday makeup bag. Ideally I would have taken one of my favourite neutral eyeshadow but I forgot it so I just had to do without.
